Hoping for some advice please :). I have a Media System Plus with Nav etc.

Used Google maps for directions yesterday and found that after BT had locked on the sound came out of the car speakers. Great!

Except that then directions went silent.

After some investigation I found that mute would engage as indicated by silence from the SGS3 (being engaged with BT and the car's system) as well as the car speakers and the on screen line through the speaker.

If I twirled the knob on the steering wheel, then the red sound bar moved across the display and directions came back on through the car speakers. Only seconds later with no more intervention from me the speakers were muted again.

Any one come across self muting speakers on BT before? Phone call functions work fine.

Appreciate any input or verification

I suspect it's the bluetooth profile. If you play music from the SGS3 is that working fine?

If so it will probably be an issue with the profile that maps is using.

I will let you know when I get my LEON and test it with my S4. That could be a few weeks yet though.

Thanks Leon_marjohn. That might make sense as music plays without a problem. I'd be interested when you get your Leon. Bet you can't wait

I think we've got the same media manufacture date Mine says
Device Part No 5F0035858A
Hardware 40
Software 0421
Could you confirm. If so it's a glitch.
Playing music would be annoying as I guess that's more frequent than using GMaps

Think I've e worked it out. Adjust the start volume in the sound setup. The muting seems deliberate. When the sound restarts it does so at the volume set in start up volume. If, like me you had it set as low as possible, you can't hear it when the nav issues directions.

I'm currently in Turkey on holiday until Thursday but I'll have a look at mine when I get back.
