Got a Flip key now!

Cool programmed a flip key by myself ... pretty lush!
only thing i needed doing by a 3rd party was the actual cutting

Doing mine in the morning funnily enough.
But i have read that the later transponders need changing to a fresh new one as they are only able to be programmed once.

My blades cut already local non franchised shop did it.

yea my blade is cut but I cant get it to sync to un-lock and lock the doors. Im hopeing that when I get the immobilser done they can do the locking as well.

Just read my manwell, and the locking happens after the immobilizer is matched up.

hmm, thats not strictly true - you can programme the lower half without the upper half, there is no electronic link between them. I programmed the fob to open the car with the old immob chip still in it.

richellis, there's a couple of different programming techniques, you tried them all?

got my key cut and programed to day aswell!!

the lower half with the fob can be programmed seperate to the immob i have 3 fobs programmed to mine and only 1 transponder. it has to be a new unused transponder to be able to program to the car. but the fob can be second hand.

if the fob is the same part number and make sure battery is good, it should program to your car if you follow the correct procedure. also some other part numbers work and others have superseded to new ones

Just to add i paired it this way for the locking

Try this:

- car is locked
- unlock with normal key manually at drivers doorlock
- IGN ON with normal key ... leave it there
- use NEW remote key to lock the car manually at drivers doorlock
- remove remote key from doorlock
- press "lock" at the NEW key, indicator lights will flash
- then hold the "unlock" für ~3 sec. and indicators will flash long and the doors should unlock
- coding procedure should be successfully finished.

Described in our board and confirmed several times ...

i used hickleys for a brand new transponder, i got a used remote part.. then bought a brand new case from singapore or something

vag tacho could not get the code from my dash so had to use vag commander and extract it from the ecu!

I tried to do this last week. Bought a cheap key from Ebay (£5!) and got the blade cut from a photo (also on EBay but £7 done from a photo)

Have coded remote fine, key works fine but I can't split the remote fob to remove the chip!

Gutted Think my fob is too old and the non chip splittable type. It has the square buttons and not the oval buttons which I "think" rules me out!

Unless anyone knows different?

grab either end and just bend! seriously it works!

my old key was HACKED to bits by a previous owner who obviously didnt know how to split it in two... he must have been shoving knifes and screw drivers and all sorts into it!

so yeah snap it like its a bar of dairy milk! or kit kat

I've lost my spare key

So, how do I go about getting a new spare key from scratch and getting it cut and synched to my car etc... ?

I've split the fob into two parts - just can't then split the head of the key to get the chip out!

Ahh well...I guess I'll just live with the shoddy normal non-flipping key!
