Picked up the FR this morning - what a beautiful looking car. Unfortunately it didn't have the heated seats which I was expecting being as it was leather. To be honest if I'd known that I wouldn't have had the car and I'd just of got one of the available red 5 doors instead with the cloth interior.

Also, the panoramic sunroof is just lies. There's nothing panoramic about it, at least the definition of panorama that I'm aware of (wide angle view). It's just a sunroof that only tilts. Unless I'm mistaken it doesn't even open up. Luckily it does make the car look a little bit more special... but not worth £450.

Anyway, niggles and annoyances and slight anger aside [:@] (I suppose it was my own fault for not getting the heated seats concretely confirmed by the dealer), the car itself is excellent. The handling is superb, I purposefully took it the country road route to work this morning and threw it around the corners and the ride isn't noticeably firmer than the 1.6CR.

On the drive back from Nottingham, I got 53MPG and I did drive it like a bit of a tit . On the windy country roads, constantly braking and accelerating, I still got 45MPG.

The real test will be the journey home tonight and the journey in the morning. I'm hoping for high 50s at least out of this the engine.

Initials impressions are that I've probably over spent on features I didn't need (although I must say the leather is very comfy albeit without the arse warming), but hopefully it'll save me £20 a month on fuel by my calculations, so it'll work out about £30-40 a month more than my 1.6. I'd say that's worth it.

Does anyone know what the leather is? It doesn't smell like proper leather, is it synthetic?

Well, it does look good and it'll be nice to have in summer. I did miss not having a sunroof in the 1.6 in the summer period just gone.

Glad you're liking it mate :) bad luck about all the extras you paid for and didn't get what you wanted...
Let us know about your MPG as i'm struggling to get high 50's, then again, maybe it's my driving :p

Are they at least gonna sort you with some sort of compensation if it was a mistake on their side? Skirts and spoiler hehehehehehehehhehehehe

i'm glad i had my pan roof, yea not the greatest in the world. to go to the trouble putting them in ,just a little more work to make it slide, well i mean come on, then it would be great !!!! but it does let more light in to the **** pit. and that's why i had it........... does the job for me hehehehe.......................

think you should complain ive read the brochure and looked at the options list online,

if yoy spec the leather pack it comes with ALL elements of the winter pack which includes heated seats,

sounds like the old parts lottery bin with seat, call them and tell them your car should have it and it states that in the brochure otherwise threaten you will contact trading standards end of the day its there in black and white on there own brochure, they may retrofit as a gesture of goodwill or you could refuse the car

Its a cracking car mate, A slide sunroof would have been nice but it would also reduce the headroom a few inches, these cars are quite compact in the headroom department anyway.

dellaFR, what sort of driving do you do most? Mway vs the lanes vs the town? It all has an effect. If I get lucky with the traffic lights on the way to and from my mway stint to work it can make a few MPG difference.

Got 53 on the way home last night (which is about 20 miles uphill and I did some mad overtakes, including almost ramming someone because the response of the gas is so much quicker compared to the 1.6) and 58 on the way here this morning. Pretty effortlessly as well :). It's an awesome car, just such a shame it wasn't the spec I was expecting.

It should still stand mate, they state it comes with all that so it should,

Yeah, took advice from Consumer Direct and Seat Finance. Giving the dealership chance to make amends first as per the finance company's recommendations, if they won't then the finance company said they'll sort it.

We'll see. The salesman that dealt with my complaint initially said they have no recollection of me asking if the car came with them, however the salesman I bought it from said (I quote exactly):

"I remember seeing on the system it said leather seats and was sure it had them or not".

That was probably meant to be "was[n't] sure". Shame that wasn't mentioned when I rang instead of "I think so". Luckily I was in the office carpark on hands free at the time of ordering and I had a colleague in the car who confirms I'm not making it up [B)].

I still got a good deal anyway and apart from that the salesman had been very good to me on the last two purchases. However I do wish I'd known the car didn't have the winter pack, because then I'd of just factory ordered without the leather or the sunroof; the salesman said they would have honored the 17.5% discount, but I'd had to pay the 2.5% difference on top (which by the way is apparently no longer the case according the same guy?).
