Hello peeps,

Just a short one, my brakes and front discs have been upgraded on my 16v and i am getting a slight metal on metal rubbing sound while on the road, i know its the brakes as when i use them the sound goes away. Do these new green stuff pads make this sound when new? A friend has a mrk 3, and she recons this is normal?:headhurt:

Cheers, so i might need to change them, or they are so new they have the bedding in compound on them...(have heard that).
It's got to one or the other, will get them checked out, nice one!

so you have'nt even checked them visually yet then?
not new greens ont here at all? (which come with bedding in sandpaper type finish)

check em out dude ASAP

Will do, its got the greens on there, but gonna get some new ones the weekend, i recon i need new ones, had the car about 2 weeks, so still finding little things that need sorting, cam belt end of the month etc etc. After all these little bits have been done i may be able to help others with their questions! Sent a letter to the old owner to see if he can shed some light on the mods he's done, its got the pipercross induction kit on it etc, bit new to all this moding, i will learn!

Bonus!, old owner phoned me today, new EBC discs and green stuff all round went on a month ago, so just got to see if the noise dies down a bit - i think it is. Plus, no need to change my can belt, all done at 65,000, its now 85,000. So i can now get my wheels refurbed instead, woo wooo! Got the original whites, fancy silver or some sort of dark metallic grey to go with the blue...mmmmm

White do look pretty cool with the blue, but gonna go for a bit of a scubie look, white sticks out a little too much round here, the discs are new as well, the last owner said he had replaced the whole lot nearly 4 weeks ago, so just gonna keep an ear on the noise, it has change a little so let you know if the sound goes away.
