Cars make me poor

A jolt, followed by a TC light and limp mode, then EM light a few minutes later on my way to work leads me to think my MAF has had it.

I purchased it from GSF around 5 Months ago on an exchange basis and I have the receipt.

Also, I'm running BMC filter if this makes any difference. I think I'm going to have to look into some 'soft mounting'.

Has anyone had any success with taking a broken MAF back to GSF after this amount of time?

they probably take the dealers approach - they will give you a new one but if it goes again in a short time and remember you, they will probably say its your air filter causing it

gsf is 12 months on bosch parts they replace if the unit is faulty
get it checked with vag com first before blaming the maf

Quick update on this. Turned out not to be a MAF (phew). A quick trip to TT on the way home revealed that the N249 had come loose, melted and blown a fuse, causing limp mode and lots of errors.

Went to maplin at the weekend and got myself a soldering iron (been meaning to get one ever since I moved out of my parents house) and a resistor so the engine management light should be off soon.
