The closing mechanism for the SOS button cover has broken and I'm left with a nice red light right in my eye line. As SEAT warranty will not replace the overhead console it's part of is it possible to simply swap with a second hand unit or are there any modules that would need to be coded to the vehicle? Alternatively is it possible to swap the PCB inside the overhead console to prevent any faults showing?

You need a new interior light unit. They are plug and play, no coding, the only thing that needs swapping over is the ultrasonic module for the alarm that's clipped to the top of the light unit.

What reason was given for warranty rejection?

Thanks for sharing the knowledge, I was just told it was rejected but they are replacing the illuminated sill cover and a broken hose on the EVAP system under warranty.

My guess would be the cost and lead time for that part.
