GT30 on a 1.8t?

Does anyone have experience of owning a 1.8t with a GT30 turbo? I'm building a mk2 Golf track car and I've found a GT30 for sale but I'm a bit concerned about turbo lag and the torque curve. I'm only looking for around 350bhp max, is this turbo just too big?? I'd also love to see a dyno printout!

Too big, I'd say. Get a GT28

ive got a GT30 fitted been done by badger5 due back very soon runs 1bar at 3500 rpm full boost at 4000 rpm

Thanks for the input gents. Probably too far up the rev range for me. I'm looking for a flatter torque curve. Would be interesting to see some dyno shots.

GT28Rs will spool quicker and get to about 350bhp with some meaningfull boost from low to mid 3krpms

The GT28RS sounds like the turbo for me. Anyone know of one for sale? Where is the best place to buy one?
