Right guys, just been driving home in my LCR and the yellow oil warning light came on.

It was serviced at Seat before I bought it and it had done 8.5k. Its now on 14.6k.

Let it cool down, dipped the old stick and was below the bloody lowest line! My heart dropped!

Phoned Westec quickly and was told to have a look at the inlet manifold hose to see if theres any oil inthere. If there is then the turbo could be on its way out! at 14.5k!!!! NO WAY!

Checked the hose and it was dry as a bone.

I'm off down the garage now to buy some oil. Jock in Westec told me 10-40 any tidy brand.

Surely this is not normal?

Unless WhiteDove never done the oil in the first place?

What was it at your last weekly check?

can't have used all that in a week surely?

there's your answer then......

cars use oil, you top them up. hopefully it's not used so much oil that you ran the turbo dry - in which case it's now going to be in need of replacement

Mine had to be topped up a few times in it's first 20k, it's been fine since.

Just keep your eye on it.
