Hey folks!
When I got my Leon FR 170 it had most of the spec I wanted, except heated seats!
In the past (MK5 Golf GTI) I bought a heated leather interior and new climate panel and wiring loom - but that was a job and a half and could never be bothered to go through that hassle with another car! So decided to get a retrofit of carbon heat pads fitted to the seats.
Basically, they strip the seat, fit the heat pads and wire the switches in, then put the seat covers back on.
I chose to have my switches located in front of the handbrake area - as I have an armrest, if you didn't have an armrest you could put them where the armrest lies.
£450 all in which seems expensive, but to be honest, 5 garages quoted me that same price, but the guy who did mine is based in Essex, if anyone is interested I will pass on his details.
They are so good! If you want heated seats you should get them fitted! There are 2 settings, top setting is HOT and needs turning off about 7 mins as it gets too hot
bottom setting is lukewarm! But they don't half heat up fast! So not much waiting, from my experience with factory fitted heated seats they take about 3-5 mins to get going, these take about 1 minute or so before you can feel the heat coming through!
Also, these on the base part - go all the way to end - so the heat is evenly spread - and the back area is also heated.
Pics below;
I also added staging to the instrument cluster (needle sweeping) and speed display using VCDS.
Also pic of the RNS, although I am selling that for anyone interested in a RNS310!
