A progressively worse intermittent fault with an impaired front sensor. Dealer promised a software update would fix it. It only got worse. After 6 months' wait a second dealer visit and bumper removal revealed the problem to be a spider nest - and by now a sizeable spider - between sensor and bumper.

£276 bill - spiders not being covered under warranty. But you'd have thought there would be a cover over the rear of the sensor to protect the space around it.

The spider wasn't harmed during the dealer visit. I decided against bringing her home again though.

Any Top Tips for cleaning around this difficult to access sensor would be welcomed.

Diagnostic problem . But problem from owner side.
As an owner, I say that's just wrong. It's a design flaw. It shouldn't be possible for an insect to cause a component to malfunction. The unit should be sealed to prevent insect ingress. What's an owner supposed to do? Sit up all night with a shotgun, looking for spiders?
