Has anyone used superchips

Hi all, hope everyone is ok, I’m considering getting my car superchipped, as I have heard good things from my mates who have used them.

Also they are only down the road from me.

Just wondering if anyone has had the 1.5tsi 150 done by them or if anyone has any thoughts.

Not the 1.5tsi 150 but I've had four cars fettled by Superchips over the years.

First was an 07 Octavia vRS TDI 170, back when it was more or less new. At a year old, they even mapped it a second time on their rolling road when Skoda did a remap themselves that fundamentally changed the power & torque curves.

More recently I had my 70 plate Ateca VZ remapped to good effect when it was 6 months old.

Subsequently, I had their Superchip plug-in tuning box (it's the DTE one from Germany) fitted to my 23 plate Ateca VZ and later transferred to my current 74 plate Ateca VZ.

The plug-in box was necessary as the recent VAG ECUs have too strong encryption and it brings the benefit of Eco, Comfort and Race profiles that can be switched on the move via Bluetooth connection to an App on your phone.

Overall, extremely satisfied both with the product and service.

They have a very good reputation and show nice improvements.

Hi, I haven’t considered anyone else to be honest, just as from what I have been told by family and friends they have used superchips before and been very pleased.

I will look into others.

Just feel the 1.5tsi 150 could do with a bit more response from the throttle and a bit more go

Thanks for the reply, sounds like you have been happy using them.
They are only down the road from me and with the price, think my brother in law has a voucher for £50 off too, because he recently got his done, sweetens the deal

I had a Skoda vRS Petrol done superchipos, plus 55 bhp. It transformed the car - only problem was wheelspin and tyre hop off the mark, 300 bhp is too much for FWD to cope with. Very difficult to launch it fast, but once rolling the acceleration was superb. On the motorway when a gap opened up you could pick up speed towards the outer limits of motorway top speed very quickly, and no issues at all with motor.

Stage 1 doesn't really need a tailored map if the car is otherwise stock.

Every car and engine is different especially the more miles you do so a tailored map for your car is better.
The added benefit of going to a mapper is that they can also do a tcu tune tailored for the new map utilising all the new power.

Agree that it's better, but still not really needed IMO.
As long as the engine is in good condition, differences should be very minimal.

That is the nice thing about a JB4
It can data log for a few weeks and then a custom map 6 produced.

On newer cars the ECU encryption is too strong for a mapper to be able to gain access to be able to do a custom map. :-k :-k

Which cars in particular?
A friend of mine has a 2024 340d mapped by ptorque near Wolverhampton.
Another mate of mine with a 2025 S3 got his car mapped by R Tech Nuneaton, no issues.

Can't say as I don't know the full specification details of both cars; nor the specifics of Performance Torque's work.

My comments above are based on personal experience.
