Hazard Button - Stuck Down!

Hi all

Odd problem which I do not know how it has come about but...

Pushed the hazards to say 'thanks' to another road user who let me in at a busy junction and the damn button would not get back up! Couldn't switch them of for love nor money! Eventually pulled over once through the Blackwall Tunnell (any of you familiar will know there is NOWHERE so stop and pull over...) and prised it up with a flat head screwdriver.

In my short dealings with it, it seems to be 'sticking'.

Obviously want to fix it, I prised off one blank spacer button but haven't made my way across the console to it, wondering if anyone else has doe it or any tips on prising the buttons up/what will need replacing? The button is not 'floppy' so I don't think a springs gone and no sticky substances have ben spilt on it (to the best of my knowledge) so I'm at a bit of a loss...

Any help/experiences greatly appreciated as this is one of those little jobs that ends up potentially taking a day, usually with me breaking something (snapping the button in two) and having to replace the whole bloody unit because I can't stand not having the clean lines.

Best,

X

The good old blackwall tunnel......yeh no where to stop around there

Have you tried a little bit of WD40 to see if that helps?

Hi folks

Just out of warranty, frustratingly (4months).

WD-40 is a good idea but I don't want to squirt anything in there before I have had a look - I've heard liquids and electrics rarely go well together. Although in contrast, a friend once told me that a 9v battery in a mens urinal caused no end if hilarity once upon a time. Then again, I'm not sure even that is a firm example of electricity and water being used well together.

Best,

Ha ha mines does that but it seems its the cup phone holder i have, it fills the entire cup on the right and u twist it and it expands inside the holder to become tight. Seems to squeeze the hazard button surround also.
