Well i am going to change my stock cd player for a after market head unit but have heard of problems changing, is this right or is it straight forward, any advice much appreciated thanks

really easy mate, pop the old one out, put the new cage in, swap the red and yellow wires over, plug it in and push it in! (bit of a basic walkthrough lol)

where have you heard of problems??

you will need a tool to take old one out can get from halfords.... i also took cd changer out glove box which was 2 screws so easy..... when i brought my cd player all had to do was change 2 wires over so cd player always had power so wouldnt lose settings.... its easy to do mate half hour job

No problems, you'll need a new fascia as the standard one is a lot wider than an after-market one.
You might need an aerial booster and chances are you'll need to swap the red and yellow wires over on the new stereo loom to keep the settings once the ignition key as been removed :)

I cant remember where or what i read i just remember some thing about the car blowing up or something lol, i am moving the head unit in to the glove box and removing the head unit and auto changer ( the head unit had a SD card slot) and then putting three gauges in the single din slot so all i need to do is swap the red and yellow ( constant live and switched live) wires over so the red wire from the head unit wants to be conected to the yellow wire on the cars loom and vice versa..

Cheers Lee, i spend half my life on the bay i should have thought of looking there hadn't thought about the adaptor either, now i wont think i have finished only to find a bit missing, the car i bits, and no where to get the part.lol
