It was abit tight getting it in so removing some of the siding could be a good idea, just be careful to mount it how you want it (central etc).

Wiring was pretty easy.. had the standard wiring you'd need for a standard headunit fitting but connected the wires to the correct wire on the center console. Be sure you wire the power source cable of your headunit to the same wire as the center console so when you put the key in and turn it the memory kicks in and loads the unit.

If you get stuck with the wiring side ill draw up a diagram or remove mine and take photos for you :funk:

Cheers mate, i think id rather leave the sides as they are even if it is a tight fit, i thought it might not fit all together.

Im not planning to do it straight away anyway but when i come to could i pm you to get a wiring diagram and any photos etc? as thatd be really helpful

Ye no problem mate

if you stuggle to build it aswell then give me a shout :)

will do mate, im trying to get hold of a second hand bit of dash to build it on, then i think im just gonna look at a wooden railed box type structure with a gloss black wrapped fascia and carpet the surrounds

Does anyone know about the wiring? I plugged the brown and black plugs into my new DVD player in my dash, and its only the coloured plug left in the tape deck, but now my head unit doesn't seem to have any power. Does anyone know what needs to be done to get it to work so I can work my aircon?

What have you unplugged!? The only plug you can disconnect is the speaker ISO plug (probs brown) the power ISO plug (one with red, black and probs a few other colours) needs to be left plugged in.

all your power is going to your dvd player then isnt it?

scroll up to the pdf file somewhere in this thread, setting up the wiring loom for a head unit in the dash is listed in there

Take a live from the battery and fit an earth to one of the bolts in the bulk head under the dash and just leave the main power plug in the original unit.:)

Have finally got hold of a head unit, so this is all go now. Have sent you a pm Dgorman :)

planning to make the housing from wood and get it wrapped matt black so it fits in with the interior, but might carpet the sides depending on how well it fits.

Has anyone still got that wiring pdf file they could send me please. Ill pm you my email address if needed.

The one listed on here is no longer available unless it has moved somewhere else.
