Hi, is it possible to change head unit from 1P2035152 to the next version up 1p0035153? With aux and steering controls still working

Have you tried to plus it in to see if the plug is even the same?

Yes mate the plugs the same, lights stay on but no screen. Asked the question on the Leon Facebook page some are a straight swap and others you have to wire a secondary power feed, can’t find out which pin needs one. Updated to the Facelift climate control which obviously that radio suits better with that

I have just pulled mine out and replaced it with a double DIN stereo with sat nav and reversing camera, which I think is a better option. The one I bought works with all the steering wheel controls because it has CANBUS built in.

First impressions are favourable, but I have to get a "relay" to get full 12 volts to the reversing camera (which is cheap one from Ebay) as the camera view is lost due to the Canbus system dropping the reverse light voltage with the engine running. A common VW group issue. In fact the thing you need is not a relay, its actually a small DC-DC buck boost converter that gives a constant 12 volt output.

Fitted the converter, and the reversing camera now works. There is slight interference from somewhere causing the picture to shmmer a bit. Possibly caused by the voltage converter. Nothing I can't live with but I wonder if its any good putting a ferrite on the camera wires or the 12 volt wires from the converter? Any ideas?
