Hi just needing some help as I don't want to get ripped off to fix the problem. After having a slight bump to the back of another car my headlights are not fixed in to position as they once were. However the lights work fine and the car is fine as well, the problem is i'm being told by my Seat Garage that this means the main beam and other light factors doesn't beam out correctly. They've given me a quote of £500 to fix this which will means they will then pass my m.o.t.

Is it worth getting them to fix it as they deal with Seats more than anybody else, or finding another local garage? Thanks

Do you mean the headlight is now not mounted as it once was, so it does not match the headlight on the other side of the car? If its moved position i guess it needs brackets or whatever changing so it can be mounted properly.

£500 sounds very expensive. Even if the brackets are broken on both headlights and need replacing, new headlights from SEAT (halogen) are about £150 each and easy to replace. Aftermarket ones can be bought a lot cheaper.

bumper takes about 5 minutes to take off. £500 is too much, even if they are replacing the whole light unit. The brackets are probably just bent on the headlight.

Bumper off
Headlight off
Straight out the bracket, as I believe they're metal.
Re assemble and get an alignment done

Cheers for the help guys. After thinking about it the damage to the front headlights is bad in that it is pretty wobbly and I do need it back asap so i'm just going to have to pay for it. They did quote me £179 labour if I already had spare headlights available so just hope they're a reliable garage. Thanks
