I had a banging/bumping noise coming form the back of the car for a couple of weeks, it was really doing my head in.
I tried tidying out the boot, removing the golf clubs, unhanging the toe rope/jump leads, tightening the spare wheel and still couldn't figure out what was going on.
Then I came out to my car the other morning and saw a bit of shiney metal hanging down just where the exhaust is.
So I had a closer look and it is the heat shield that is mounted above the exhaust pipe.
So I took it into Seat today and they told me it is the heat shield above the exhaust.
They are gonna fix it when they get the bits back in.
So just a note for all you guys n girls who have squeeks and bangs coming from your cars that if you look hard enough sooner or later you will find the problem.
