Hey guys

I remember someone saying they retrofitted heated seats on their Leon, but can't remember who.

This recent weather and having a derv have made me want them, just wondered how much it cost and if it's easy to do.

You can't easily retrofit the factory parts as you'll need a whole new climate control module as this is where the buttons are located

There are plenty of decent aftermarket companies who do kits.
However I found that I haven't missed them since changing from my Audi A4 cabriolet with leather to the Leon with just cloth seats.

I remember the thread your talking about. The guy bought some heated pads and had them put in the seats by a trim company. I've searched and can't find it either but it's here somewhere...

i remeber the thread, and today i was thinking about it myself.

but then, im not convinced its a worth while mod.

I have climate control, do I still need a whole unit? (I have the new one with the circular nobs that you twist, like the golf)

@ Tonto - It's worthwhile for me on these cold mornings with a derv :p

Yes, whole new unit required

That's the unit I have, just without the heated seats button. Do I really need a new unit just for two buttons?

Yes a whole new module, how are you going to get the buttons on their own ???

Believe me if the buttons were available I'd have brought them by now !!

The other guy who retrofitted had the buttons separate, because he placed the buttons in a completely different place. He put them somewhere near the handbrake. Unless he bought the whole unit and just moved the buttons.

That fecking sucks though if that's the case.

You don't need a control unit all u need is a thromomaticly controlled switch and fit it where ever u want.
I have got to say through striping ur seats to put heater elements into them is quite a hard Job but its defo doable

They were on the plastic trim below the gear stick and they were just random buttons. How can no one find this thread??

Cheers mate. No idea why it didn't come up when I searched.

Seems a bit steep price wise to me, I can do without for that much, just didn't have a clue if it was hard or not :)
