Heater Blower Not working!

Hi all,
I have a mk4 Ibiza 1.9tdi pd130. (2003)
Currently the heater blower does not work, on any setting. I can feel hot air slighly coming through the vent when I accelerate.
Done a bit of research and can see people suggesting the Blower resistor, but this only links to fans working only on full speed, mine won't work on any speed.
I've checked the motor by placing current from a booster pack and it turned over fine, there seems to be an issue getting 12v to the motor, because testing the connection gave a a very low reading.
Anyone else had this trouble?
Also with the resistors are there two types? Most photos are showing the plastic circle with a chip on the end, but I can't find this on my car. I Can only can find a big metal looking lump tuck up into where the panel filter sits, Is this the resistor?
Any help would be much appreciated, because it's really getting cold lol

Had this problem the lat couple days, all i needed to do was disconnect the negative on the battery for a few minutes, this resets climate control and mines is all now working fine

Hi mate, afraid not
I have no air coming through at all.
I not sure what else it could be other than the blower resistor.
The fuse is fine, the motor turns when linked to 12v, the wires are fine because some electric is getting to the fan connector and the switch must be working because again electric is getting to the fan, just at a very low level. Would the resistor restrict the current if faulty?
Also anyone know best place to get the alloy type resistor? Have a feeling stealers will rob me, like they did the other day buying my lower boost pipe £106.44

I posted below earlier in the Toledo Mk 1 & 2 Forum but since come across the above post, does my symptoms sound the same & when it stops raining to disconnect the negative lead to the Battery. Is there an ECU in Climatic Control then ? Here's what I posted :

Climate Control blowing Cold OK but not Hot

I have a 2001 Toledo SE Whilst driving in the heavy cold rain today suddenly all the Windows steamed up. I stopped and on investigation I found that although the fan was blowing hard it seemed to be that the "flaps" were not open. However if I set the Temperature control to "LOW" the blower blows out of the screen vent as expected but as soon as I put it to 18DegC it just seems to close down the flap for blowing out of the screen (or any other vent come to that).

The Blower motor must be working as it works great on "LOW" and for the same reason the Flap must be opening OK. I checked the coolant level and is fine (no different to when I went out as coincidently I checked it). When set on a Temperature 18-24 or "HOT" the dashboard does get warm as if the fan is blowing hot air but just being stopped from coming out of the screen vent. Up arrow for screen vent or screen mist button makes not differenced.

Has anyone else experienced this, I've turned engine off, left it for awhile incase there's any "errors" that need reseting but no different. Why I wrongly thought this is because the electrics seem to be working OK.

Further to earlier I tried the Climate Control diagnostics and report the following :

at 1c the code is .0 which "No malfunction Present"

at 8c which is "digital value of Temperature Regulator Flap Motor Potentiometer (G92)" this shows "0"

32c to 35c (various Potentiometer malfunction counter for various flaps) all read "0"

I wondered if there was some malfunction in an internal temperature sensor that maybe was saying the internal temperature was already too high to allow more hot air in but the sensor in the headliner showed 17DegC and the one in the instrument panel showed 16DegC.

I have done a guide for replacing the resistor pack, it's where the panel filter goes. Don't know if this is the fix to your problem but its worth a shot

Fuzzy, thanks for your help, once you mentioned pollen filter I went to have a look at mine to see if it was wet, however what was the problem was the gulley around it was full of water as the drainage channels were blocked.....this water must of slopped down into the intake for the Climate Control; fresh air entry. Once I had unblocked the holes (one either side of the car tons of water drained out & immediately the Climate Control started working straight away...........don't ask me the mechanism for this & what prevented it blowing correctly but it all works well now. Strange. Make sure the pollen filter is regularly changed as it can burn out the resistor!
