Just fitted my Helix 6 Paddle clutch set up. Pretty impressed so far, few questions that I'd like to get clear first though; I understand that the paddle clutch does judder when pulling away, although this isn't too bad on mine, more control of left foot and more throttle sorts this problem. My main concern was the judder that I get when changing down into 2nd when coming to a junction or roundabout... it's pretty bad (whole dash shakes) and it's a lot worse than when pulling away. It happens slightly when changing down into 3rd but only if I'm going too slow.

Another thing to note may be that it doesn't happen when changing from 1st to 2nd. Also if I blip the throttle on changing down the judder is decreased.

Is this my clutch just bedding in, will it improve or have I fitted it wrong?

P.S release bearing is brand new.

Any help appreciated .

Joe

I love the experience of having something which feels very firm and rigid, makes you appreciate the power more IMO.

If it's common enough I really don't mind it was more of a problem if no one had else had heard of it before. Weirdly the effort is making me like my daily more :D

I will try matching revs on the way home today - is this a case of getting the speedo needle and rev counter needle as close to each others position as possible?

Rev matching is matching the rpm to what it would be doing at the speed your at in the specified gear.. eg. say in 3rd @ 50mph the revs are 4000rpm then changing down from 4th to 3rd @ 50mph you will need to rev up to 4000rpm then drop the clutch..

If you get me.

Normally just a good blip on the throttle does the trick, it will become natural in the end.
