Hi everyone new to the forum.

Bought a cupra on friday but the engine light is on, the guy says its overfuelling and needs a map to solve this. Is this likely to fix the issue? its got forge intercooler turbo back exhaust and all the hoses done. The engine management light is on does this mean that the car is in limp mode as it seems like it should be much quicker than it is.

Thanks in advance

ye iv heard that can cause it its had lambda sensor changed and that o2 sensor too so it can only be coolant or need a remap i suppose. Can it damage the engine running it rich?

wat map has it got now??? if it is standard id prob say its not the map more likely to be coolant sensor telling the engine to chuck in too much fuel, i dont think it will do much damage but performance will suffer as a result, best idea is get it on vagcom mate otherwise we could guess allday

got my mate to plug vag com in last night and there were about 5 errors, some of which i know have been fixed by previous owner. He cleared them all and it was F***in mental!! so much better but then after 50 miles the light came back on so going to get him to see which of the 5 has come back and fix it.

do tuned ibizas still run on a standard lambda sensor or do they need a diffeent higher performance one. My mate says he thinks it might just be the ecu that needs remapping to tell it that the level of oxygen should be as high as it is now? Is he talking rubbish or is there some truth there?

All the same standard lambda's mate.

The post cat lambda can be mapped out and is mapped out with stage 2 mapping.

Sounds like you need a new one.

replaced the lambda and thought it had sorted it... the engine light came back so put it on vagcom and got this..

Also looked at FPR and it says 4.0 bar on the back so im thinking somebody before has got it fitted and not had it remapped?

Do you think a remap would sort it?
