So basically I would like to add a bit of bass to my standard head unit,

I found this whilst googling: edit: cant post the link as i dont have enough posts?!
It is a USW10 300w active underseat subwoofer found on caraudiocentre.co.uk

Im going to sound really thick, but thats a beginner for you!
Is this a proper sub/amp kit, that would literally connect up to my standard head unit (somehow!) & give me better sound?

I used to have a 306 all kitted out with a massive sub that took up half the boot  an amp & additional speakers which i loved, but no longer have.
im guessing due to the size of the one ive linked it wont be as powerful, but im really just after a little boost to my existing standards in the car as i dont wish to change those if i can help it.

I also just want something minimal as i have a Pushchair & all the usual clutter in the boot,so space is very limited.

Does anyone have any input to my request please or to point me in the right direction for my requirements,if such a thing does exist!
many thanks! :)

Under seat subs are okay theres been a couple I've played with, for a little more base there alright, but not good if you want heavy duty, there not a plug in and play and it's easier to have it under the passenger seat due to that's where most people put the power wire, and then splice into the cables in the passengers side door speaker, but with a oem unit it won't be amazing, as a acase you could fit a spare wheel subwoofer if you haven't got a spare wheel or custom one into the side if the boot flat against where the boot light is and that might be something to consider

Looks like it might be a tight fit especially if you sit low in your seat, if I remember correctly when you have a standard head unit you need either a different amp which allows you to connect the splice into a speaker or you have to buy a converter, can't quite remember the name of amp you'll need

True. I would personally avoid underseat subs. Had one in me swift and it was aweful. Get a small 8 or 10 inch sub for the boot if you want some bass if I were you.

Not I direct fit for standard unit need to splice into speakers and and an rca output I've done it and got a slimline 8" in the boot wanted a bit more bass but nothing too much, does the job also changed the front speakers both were an improvement but if you want decent sound you'll need to upgrade the head unit to get maximum quality
