my drivers side driveshaft went lastnight so am a bit peed off. do the driveshafts from the 2.0 8v fit the 1.6 8v? and is there any difference in size/casing of the gearbox?

im asking coz i can get the gearbox and driveshafts from the 2.0 8v cheaper than the 1.6 8v.

The 2.0 8v uses an 020 'box, 2.0 16v uses an 02A 'box. I could be wrong, but I think the 1.6 uses an 085 'box. I don't know fo sure but I'd guess probably not.

some 1.6's (like my crap old one) use 085's, but the 100bhp ones use shorter ratio 020's

my car is the 100 bhp model so it should fit? it looks the same from the outside *** i got my driveshaft off it yesterday. im gona try it and update everyone.
