Hi all
ive cracked a rim on my 300 ST carbon edition wheel size 19 8J ET50 part no 5F0071499F and am having major difficulties finding a replacement. Some seat delaers have the same wheel but et45 and im pretty sure that wont fit with the 370mm brembos. Has anybody tried this ? if i cant source a replacement im guessing the only other option is for a new set of rims which is not good for a four year old car. Does anyone know what non OE wheels will fit the carbon?

Welcome to the forum @mallet. It might be worth contacting @SEAT Motor Parts who are a forum sponsor to see if they can help with sourcing and supplying a genuine OEM alloy of the correct size and offset for your car.

thanks , they can only provide the same wheel et45
after further investigation according to the seat parts system these have been made obsolete with no replacement - something for all carbon edition owners to be aware of

Is that part number 5F0071499F the actual number on the rear of the rim? Have you looked on Ebay? Another option would be to find a good alloy wheel specialist that can weld it.

Check this link out

I think that one with part number 575601025APKT2 has an offset of ET45; there’s a copper coloured one with the same part number (575601025ANXEB) for sale on Amazon which includes offset details - see details below. Note; the last 5 characters of the part number relate to the colour of the wheel; APKT2 = silver coloured and ANXEB = copper coloured, otherwise 575601025APKT2 and 575601025ANXEB are the same (J size, diameter, PCD and offset).

On most reputable aftermarket alloy wheel retailer’s websites, if you input details of your car, then they should only show you alloys that will fit your specific make and model of car.

The vehicle make / model lookup tables on some alloy wheel retailer websites are better than on others. The Rimstyle website (www.rimstyle.com) seems to be quite good and gives the options of finding the correct vehicle from its reg no, VIN or manually selecting the appropriate details (make, model, year of manufacture, body style, engine size / bhp, whether FWD, RWD, 4WD). Note that with Cupra, it sometimes isn‘t shown as a manufacturer - with Rimstyle’s vehicle lookup tables, Seat needs to be selected as the manufacturer, Leon as the model and Cupra is included on the engine size list - see below;

The alloys that are then displayed for your car should take into account factors as brake size to ensure there are no clearance issues between the calipers and barrel or spokes of the alloys. However, it may not take into account larger brakes if these were optional rather than standard on your model of car. (I seem to think they were part of the (optional?) Performance Pack), in which case it would be advisable to call the phone contact number or use the online enquiry form.

Bear in mind that with aftermarket alloys, the original OEM centre caps may not fit. However, if OEM style centre caps are important to you, then it ought to be possible to buy a set of Seat / Cupra emblems with 3M (or similar) adhesive tape backing that can attached over the centre caps supplied with the aftermarket alloys.

Good luck in your search. Please update this discussion thread with the outcome - i.e.
  • the damaged wheel can be safely repaired
  • you manage to find an OEM replacement
  • you replace your existing alloys with a set of aftermarket alloys.

This is shocking! I was under impression that manufacturers had to supply parts for up to 10 years from original manufacturer?

As for the ET45 wheels, I didn't notice if anyone else had already said, but these wheels WILL fit and will clear the Brembos. They're the setup of wheels from the Cupra R ST so will give you a 10mm wider track (Sadly doesn't give you the better geometry/added camber :D).

Downside is you'll need at least two of them to balance the axle you're putting them on, or 4 if they only come in Copper (which was my impression).

If they do come in Silver, I'd just get the 2 and run them on the front to help reduce the understeer of the 4Drive...

i have actually ordered one et45 wheel to test fit which is due to arrive today and will be ordering another if it does fit, was wondering whether front or back would be best? im less than happy with Seat about this as it still gives a problem with which size spare to carry, and means if another wheel goes ill have to buy two wheels again !

Sorry for the multiple posts.

If you want a decent replacement set of wheels, that clear the Brembos, and are lighter and a better offset for handling, then these are great.

Or if you want something more OEM looking but not as expensive:

Novus 01 alloy wheels. Lighter as they're flow formed (not the same as forged but better and lighter than cast). However I don't know 100% if these clear the Brembo's without spacers.

Or if you want/fancy a change but want to stick with OEM Seat, these seat wheels DO clear the BBK:

If you can get any second hand in good nick all these wheels clear the brembos. But as you have discovered there are different offsets for the Carbon Edition/R style wheels but all clear the Brembos (ET50 (carbon editon) ET45 (R ST) and ET 40 (R Hatch))

All the others below are ET50.

It will fit and give you a little more clearance than the standard wheels on the front brakes.

The wider track on the front is much better placed and will help reduce the understeer that the 4drive is very prone to do. Plenty of other things you can do to make it better still if you're that way inclined (just click on my carbon edition in my signature to see what I did.

As for if another cracks/get damaged, keep your 3rd wheel spare to replace one of the rears if you're unlucky again. At least then you don't have to buy another two.

Hello,
I am looking at an extra set of wheels to fit summer tires to my car. I have the balck perfromance pack with Brembo brakes and curently fitted with these wheels 5F0071490A KT2. I am having issues in finding the specification of these wheels online; are they 8' or 8.5' width ? also what is their offset ? I would like to find a wheel that matches these as they fit nicely. I was looking at Autec Wizard (Type W) 19x8 5x112 ET48 but I don't know if they are identical in terms of fitment and if they will clear the brakes ?

The eBay sellers at the links below are stating they’re 8J x 19” ET50. PCD the Seat Leon and Cupra Leon is 5 x 112.
