A few months back my wipers started to behave strangely, on intermittent wipe the passesnger side wiper wouldn't park itself correctly on the return wipe, it would drop down to the right place then bounce back up about 5 inches to cover the tax disc, this only happenned while on intermittent wipe, if on constant wipe both wipers would return correctly after each stroke as normal, until the wipers were turned off when the same thing happenned to the passenger side, it would sit too high.
The dealer said it was the wiper motor and had the car for 3 days, charged me £££ and fitted a new wiper motor, the problem still exists!

Now, I find that sometimes if the wipers have been on, when turned off they just continue working even though they are in the off position, it's completely random, also have had the wipers fail on me twice during the past month, the dealer now tells me it's most likely a faulty wiper motor (again) when I explain they fitted a new motor not so long ago which I paid nearly £300 for including another small job and I still have the fault, they say it's common for faulty parts to be fitted unfortunately! What kind of business is this I ask?

Now I have a major problem in that as the passenger side wiper blade is always sitting 5 inches above where it should do, when the wipers are activated it's sweep is always infront of where it should be and the timing of the pair is interferred with resulting in both passenger side and drivers side coming into contact, so all I get is judder, hop, bang as they clash and hardly any wipe! It's not only dangerous but i'm a tad unhappy to say the least with the dealer at the moment.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this before I return to visit the dealer, I'd rather be armed with some sort of conclusion rather than them fitting another wiper motor with no positive end result, i'd like this sorted before winter realy sets in.

any input would be helpful
Thanks:confused:

You need to see an auto electrician. Rogue problems on intermittent etc sound very odd.

If the wipers are coming together have you check if one of the splines is worn and slipping inside the wiper arm?

the wipers only appear to be clashing as the passesnger side starts it's sweep ahead of where it should be due to where it now seats itself 5 inches above the normal resting position, it seems as though due to this it gets in the way of the drivers side arm when that starts it's lift, i'm sure if the passenger side was seated properly in the 1st place ie, down, this wouldn't occur.

Thanks for your suggestion about the spine though, it's odd that the passenger side doesn't seat correctly, it actually goes down flush against the base of the windsreen when the sweep has eneded but then bounces back up, sometimes 3 inches mostly 5!
