Help - My VAGCOM is broke :(

Hi all, can anyone help me with this...

I had VCDS 10.6.4 fully working and yesterday it asked me if I wanted to update to the new 11.10.1.

I hit update which downloaded and installed the new version, I then set up the COM port (USB) for the cable/interface, then hooked up to the car.

Opened the programme in the usual way, I noticed on the home screen it said -1 codes loaded, I instantly knew something was wrong as it normally says around 13,700 loaded!...

I then clicked Select Control Module and an error message popped up saying codes.dat?

What do I do? Re-install the old version that I have on a disc and leave it at that?

Help meeee pleaseeeee!!!

Not that i use VAGCOM but using the knowledge the older version works you should go back to it.

Perhaps try re installing the new one again

Track down the codes.dat file and make sure it's there?

If its a genuine cable, cant you go straight to rosstech for support? Otherwise rolling back the version would probably fix it, yes.
