Help needed! Floor mat plastic attachment

Hi All,

Could really do with some help! I bought some rubber floor mats for me Leon FR and was taking the old ones out, I lifted the driver side one out but one of the plastic fasteners came out and has stayed attached.

I've tried pulling it out but I'm worried about ripping the carpet up, tried to get a small screwdriver in there but had no joy.

Has this ever happened to anybody else? Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

(Apologies for the state of the carpet, in dire need of a good clean!)

WD40 to loosen it? Spin it. Use something to hold down the carpet while you try to pry it up n off. When I bought my car, one of the mats was missing one of these, so I’m guessing what’s happened to you is what happened to the previous owner.
