Hi all,

Does anyone have any info in replacing the OEM aerial?? I have just ordered an A3 shark fin aerial, but don't know how to take the OEM one off.

Tips appreciated.
I'm also interested in the A3 fin, does it have a built in amp?? - have a ford unit with amp but it's abit too big!! and I have not fitted that as yet

Just a quick update, been away on hols. Anyway, got the A3 aerial took the lining off to fit.
First problem, the aerial connector is not the same as the Leon's.
Second tried to splice the 2 together, no reception when the lead is put back into the roof.
Third, I wasn't supplied the rubber gasket so couldn't risk leaving it on because of doubts on being weather proof.
Fourth, got a unversal shark fin........Wrong connector again. But have put this on for now until I can find the correct fitment.

Anyone who could help on this, please feel free.

If you have spliced the 2 together, make sure the outer shield and inner cores don't touch, also you will need more insulation then electrical tape as I assume the metal roof will interfere with the reception :) The joys of working at Maplins haha :)

Isn't the shark fin for Sat nav/mobile phone use?

The A3's use a diversity antenna fitted in the rear windscreen - mine two certainly do anyway!
