Help needed

Hi guys, can someone advise what this sensor here does as can't find much info on it. Was getting the p00af 9126 fault code and limp mode but when restart it would go and no fault codes shown on scanner. I was checking over everything and discconected this sensor which triggered the p00af 9126 fault code straight away then also showed p0238

Part number will be printed on the sensor - post here or Google the part number - can also cross-ref with EKTA (parts catalogue).

It says at the top 0281 006 222 comes up as pressure sensor but some others have said its a boost sensor so a bit confused what it is?

Yeah got the same problem, it's a sensor of pressure of exhaust gasses, fiddling with cables helped, drove on it for like a month, changed it 2 weeks ago for ~25€ myself and I think that the car drives smoother, but that's just a good feeling imo haha, nothing terrible there,I got the limp mode, deleted it and chased 2 M8s 20 minutes later driving 200kph, but change it if you can

Thanks for reply, can I ask you a few questions regarding this sensor? Does this control or have anything to do with the turbo actuator? Also with it disconnected do you get any warning light? Was your light glowplug/coil flashing or engine light? As I'm very confused I get p00af only when driving fast but on idle if I disconnect this sensor I get the code p00af so would this mean the sensor is faulty?

Okay, so I think that this sensor is an achilles' heel of VW TDIs. It can go faulty after 40k kms or never. Mine happened after 130k. I started the car up in the morning with coils flashing, so limp mode, with start stop system fault. Restarted the car and it disappeared. Since I was in a rush, I did diagnostics during driving, foudn out that this sensor is bad, do not do that. The car was okay, but after few hours coils came back. So cleared codes and drove, then I had time to play with it, I played with the cables, but didn't disconnect it, just tried to click it more in place, (hope u understand me, not a native speaker) and probably that did the trick and it didn't happen again. The swap was really a 5 min thing, unscrew, unplug, take it out of the tube and out with the old in with the new. Actually I have no idea what it does with turbo, imo it checks if there are no leaks in the exhaust system, since it is a pressure sensor. Honestly it's another electronic thing, that does nothing but throws a fit when it goes out, but since it is in the car, replace it.

Okay thank you yeah its really confusing lol I just had a friend remove his sensor to see what codes he got and he only just got a sensor fault but with me I get sensor and turbo fault code when I remove it.. really really confused trying to find more info on it lol I'm hoping that is my issue as my car goes into limp mode when driving fast then if I turn off and on it goes back to normal until I drive fast again its getting so annoying

A diff pressure sensor measures the pressures in and out of the dpf and helps trigger cleaning process is my understanding, I only suppliesd these out my stores never fitted one. HTH.

Very weird how its controlling my turbo actuator isn't it? Surely it has nothing to do with that if its for dpf? As soon as I remove my pressure sensor the actuator moves down and gets stuck

Maybe there are two different pressure sensors? Or fiddling with it takes the car out of limp mode?
Call local parts dept, quote the number and ask what it does?

Yeah maybe, in my case its fiddling with it and it puts it into limp mode to my existing issue which doesn't happen on idle but only does when I pull this sensor out.
