hi guys. as some of you are aware i will be part of seatcupra.net over the next few years as im picking my leon tdi up this weekend. :funk:
my leon has a cd changer whihc was put in by the manufacturer. i was wondering what types of disks this play. i have data disks which have about 50 - 60 songs on. will it play this. also i want to take out the original radio cassette head unit and put in my own kenwood one. is there any extra connectors or plugs i will need to put in.
any help greatly appreciated guys;)

I don't think it'll like Data disks too much but you never know - i've managed to get mine to play occassionally. To my knowledge aftermarket HUs don't work with OEM changers but hopefully someone who knows for sure will be along in a bit.

i have a newish kenwood head unit which i bought for my previous car and only had it in for just over a week and love. so thinking about putting this in. will i need any other connecting wires for this
cheers guys

Only thing you'll need is an aeiral booster (Halfords) to ensure the radio signal is strong enough.

Only other thing to check is the perm live & switch live wires on your Kenwood are the same way round as the Leon loon...sometimes you have to swap them over, but if the Kenwood has a proper loom on it you should just be able to swap the red & yellow wires as they will have connectors inline.

oh yer, to stop it loosing its memory. thats what it did on my previous car
cheers

You Will Also Need A Facia Adaptor As The Standard Aura Unit Is Wider Than After Market Units. Can Get Off Ebay Of Halfords.
Def Get An Aerial Booster.
And With Any Luck The Cars Iso Connector Should Plug Straight In.

On Your Cd Changer Have A Look For "connects 2" Units, They Allow You To Connect Just About Anything To Any Unit.

I HAD ONE FOR MY SONY XPLOD CD CHANGER TO AURA HEAD UNIT, THEN I PUT A SONY HEAD IN SO WAS DIRECT FEED.

duuuuudes - reading the above, my alpine unit never rembers any settings after removing the key (right pain) would rewiring solve this issue?i always thought it was the head units fault?!?!?

cheers guys
