aup lads have just done a search but cant really find an answer a couple of nights ago my fuel gauge started to drop alot quicker than usual while drivin round and when i change gear i get a lot more popping and backfiring than normal . also when i put my foot down it spluttered like a coilpack was gone but this only happened once and since has drove fine but using lots of fuel any ideas please

Could also be the map..

At the end of the day all we can do is guess untill you get someone with vag-com to scan it and see if there are and fault codes.

I would just get it on vag com asp, then see what faults you get like Damoegan mentioned also check you maf plug see if its in all the way i know it might sound a bit daft

right you need to :

disconnect your MAF and see if the car runs better.. if it does then its your MAF

change engine temp sensor, only about 18 quid.

change coilpacks

vag com may say its a 02 sensor.. in that case it could be a lambda probe..
