hi guys
having a bit of trouble removing the bottom half of the plastic cover surrounding my steering column on my mk4.

ive unclipped the top half and removed the 2 screws at the front near the wheel and also the screw underneath by the steering adjustment lever,

the bottom cover is now loose and rocks backwards and forwards but is still held somehow,is there a clip anywhere i have missed as i dont want to force it and snap something off:confused:

any help much appreciated

it's a real pain but can be done, I find it hard to remember as itwas a long time ago, but I driiled a small hole vertically in the recessed part about 1/4" in from the face of the part which sits behind the steering wheel boss, then cut that face from the hole to the part the steering shaft passes thro' this will allow the leftand right sides to be prised apart enough to pull it off, once off some futher cutting will aid replacment, but when fitted it(the cut) cannot be seen. best of luck
