I really appreciate the help from you guys ...
That parts catalogue was brilliant and will definitely come in handy when I need to find out about any part numbers I need etc.

Just to update I had a look around the engine and I'm still struggling to see where it's meant to be located.

On another note need to get a new rear wheel hub as one of the holes where the wheel bolts go is stripped and not is due can't go in with missing wheel bolts.

Hey TB so your saying / thinking it should be connected to that hose opening in the top right hand corner.

Yep, it shows in this image where it goes without the pipe attached, top right

If you look below it appears that top banana appears to have found where it goes. With regards to a stripped wheel bolt you could simply retap the thread. If you type in how to use a helicoil or self tapping kit

Another update for you guys I managed to locate the place where the valve should be located today. After removing a few bits that were in the way it is now back in where it should be. However the valve is slightly damaged looks as if a small part has broke off so I'll be keeping an eye on it till I receive the replacement part.
I've had a look at the hub as well today and it appears that the thread is ok on the hub and I've tried about 10 bolts and not one of them are going in.
On another note I'd like to thank all you guys for your help in regards to the valve and helping me find out where it belongs.
Thanks to all

everson38, you are starting to try running before you can walk, retapping a stripped hole is not possible - think about it!

Like the poster said, he needs to buy a new hub assembly complete with bearing, nut and dust cover.

I've managed to find a local supplier that sells one for around £41 now I'm unsure as to wether it includes the dust cover etc as it doesn't state this..
Same as when I've looked at euro car parts and places alike. Don't really give me any info.
I'll probably pop to my mates garage and see what he can do for me.

I'm not too sure I mean I worked in my mate car and he cross threaded a rear shock absorber so it would seat all the way and we re tapped it and it worked.

No problems. So what was it actually for? Was it causing your car to do anything odd?

There's nothing really any different if I'm honest. When I was reading up on it people that had the same issue complained of the smell of oil and fuel inside the car. I didn't experience any of that. Just glad it's back where it belongs before I did start to feel a difference.

I think that you will find that on modern cars, the "quantity" of air being drawn in is measured by a MAP and not a MAF sensor and it is well down along the inlet tract, so the engine would know nothing about that hose being off, though you would end up smelling oily fumes eventually.

On the subject of replacing the rear hub assembly, I think that all these kits include a new nut and dust cover, does the pictures not show a nut and dust cover?

I'm getting ready to sort out the rear drum brakes on the late 2009 Ibiza, and I'll need to buy a couple of new nuts and new dust covers, but unfortunately it looks like I'll only be able to get them by themselves, from VW/SEAT etc! (ebay says NO! or at least only from Germany/USA with large P&P charges getting added on)

Trouble is, with that shock absorber thread, it was probably possible to tidy it up with a tap, and that fixing was not probably critical for general car safety, a wheel bolt hole is a different ball game, when they start loosening, things can get out of hand quickly!

It could be that that hub assembly could be removed and a tap run through the bolt hole from the rear to the front and then having fully examined the thread quality it might just have been deemed to be okay - but not really worth playing fire when you know what the consequences could be?

After removing that hub, a new nut and probably a new dust cover would be needed, buying that in would increase the final price quite a bit as it looks like these hub nuts cost a few £ - and then discovering that a new hub assembly is still needed, which comes with a new nut and dust cover.

Edit:- oh, and car wheel bolts tend to be quite big sizes and buying in a proper tap to clean that thread would add even more costs - most quality mechanics taps and dies sets stop a short of wheel bolt sizes. (M14 X 1.5)

Yeah in all fairness I would go with Rum a lot more experience than myself so although it may some what work. I guess the point of safety. It's not worth it I would get the new hub in hind sight

Definitely ive shopped around and it makes alot more sense for me to buy a new hub. It is definitely alot cheaper.
Simple job for my mate to swap it over at very little cost too.
