Help with 16804 Fault code

Question.... I get this fault code 16804

DTC 16804 Catalyst System, Bank 1 Efficiency Below Threshold

I do have a Scorpion De-Cat so I presume that's why I'm getting the code?

Also I'd like to know is having this code and the EML light being on holding the car back in the way it runs? I don't notice a difference in performance?

I think bank one would be the first lambda before the cat, it's maybe needing replaced, maybe just not working upto spec or if it's a four wire then the heater circuit might be knackered. It's possible the car might use more fuel if it is foobarred.

Thanks mate. From what i've been reading and info from vagowners.co.uk seems like this is the place to start. However I erased the error twice in a row cos it didn't seem to clear after the first time, went to Oxford and back and no code to speak of so fingers crossed. If it comes back I'll replace it.
