Help with engine block!!!!!

can anyone help please! just in the middle of rebuilding my engine and bad news unfortanantly crank and block and fubard!!! the crank has too much play and has taken a gauge out of the thrust side of the block now i have found an s3 block and crank for sale just need to know whether the engine mounts holes are the same as on my ayp block? the block itself should be the same but will the bolt holes all be the same etc etc. thanks for any info. pete

I would have thought all the 1.8 20v blocks would have the same mounting points to simplify the manufacturing process

i hope this is the case just wanted it confirmed, all was too good to be true major set back if im honest money is tight as it is

thats what i asume tom, as few members have a engine from s3, Cupra R but not sure about engine mangement (may be custom map or ecu as well)....
