Right im going to speak the guy that does all my tuning work this week, I need to go back there as my shark stage 2 maps playing up again!!!!!

What's up with the map? And when you say stage 2, what sort of power you kicking out?

I bought the car with it already running a shark stage 1 map, and it felt fine and quick, but I hate DPF filters.. Before the Leon I had a mapped 57 Plate Bmw 520 D M SPORT and was so nice to drive with the map, BUT everytime it did a regen it was horrible to drive. In the end that's why I got rid of it as DPf removal was expensive and it was time for a change of car...

So with me been 40 in Feb this year the wife agreed to pay for the DPF removal and shark stage 2 map, WOW what a difference its made I'd like to say its running 220BHP but I didn't want loads of smoke so I recon its putting out between 210/215BHP..

But I've had the dreaded STUTTER issue with it from time to time since, its been back and had the map tweaked to try and get rid of it but its back again. Basically if I go from 2nd to 3rd and then floor it I get a 3/4 second stutter almost like its cleaning its self out then it goes, it sometimes also does it in 4th but not often, I believe its to do with the Boost signal ( or summut trying to go past the ECU limit ) I've also fitted the EGR gasket reducer but its not got any better..

So with it going back for a map tweak I'm thinking of having my exhaust messed with ( mainly so the wife doesn't know I'm having the exhaust done as I can say its in for the map!!! )

I just want so extra noise when I put my foot down, I guess @ heart im still a boy racer ( stuck in a 40 year old body ha ha )

A diesel will never sound like a petrol under hard acceration but im hoping I can it a little better without a big spend....
 
Have you cleaned the EGR?

No i've havent, would that cause a stutter in 3rd/4th ?

I have thought about cleaning the EGR in the past but havent got around to it, is it a big job to get it off?
 
I could do. I had mine stutter in 5th before. Getting it off is going to be a pain but its only held in place by 3 bolts. Could take a few hours worth of cleaning.

I cleaned mine when the stuttering was turning into a kangaroo hop. It sorted it for most of it but with the smaller gasket hole i havent had anything since.
 
If you're gonna get it cleaned the best bet is to get a terraclean and do the whole engine.

The stutter is something I had. Mines only running one of their 205ish maps after my 212 custom was silly smokey but I took it to shark and they got it sorted. Its related to the boost control system (I'll not get boring about it). Ultimately it's custom tuning so there's gonna be some bugs.

Mate my pd170 was stage 2 had this..... Its caused by boost spiking past the ecu limit. The ecu holds back for safety reasons. Tell mikko / Ben at shark to sort it out as they did for me and worked perfect after that :)

My shark map was good and got rid of the stuttering (was bad on the JBS map)

The way they do it is to limit the torque though... K-Tune found a work around that means you can keep the extra torque.
 
Strange how mines still stuttering then after going back and having my map tweaked again by my tuner who got the tweaked map straight from Shark????

Mayb mine is related to the Egr valve then....I'll clean it and see...

Im off to my tuners friday so he can have a look @ my exhaust, im also looking into cobe air filters @ z mo. But I think im going to make my own up from buying all the separate bits...
