HID fog lights

Hi there does anyone know how to removed the cap inside the fog lights so i can fit HID's in

The glass part separates with a little leverage, then you can cut it off and tiger seal the glass back in place

do i not need to heat the glass up?

I never when I done mine. I just used a screwdriver and levered it off.
