Are the HIDs easy to fit? also all the talk about the ballasts affecting the radio etc, whats the crack regarding that?

very easy to fit, just drill through the headlight covers and find somewhere to cable tie the ballasts to. as for affecting the radio, can't really comment, but didn't have any problems when i had them fitted to my mk4 fr.

What colour is best for hids as my mates says 8000k and my other says 6000k I'm not sure what ones to get ?

4300k is the one mercs BMW all have so to make sure you don't get pulled I would go with 6000k as the the 8000k is much whiter. It is a personal choice.

Ive been looking for 6k HIDs. ive had 8ks in one of my old cars and they were blinding. suprised i didnt get pulled over!

i gather the sidelights will be 501s? are they the same for the reg lights?

cool, will hopefully get some ordered when I get paid!

did you have to drill anything to fit them? just wondering that if you did, since my car is on PCP, would you think they would do anything?

Hids you have to drill the backing plate but you might be able to get more when you get rid check first but that's the only drilling you have to do.

fair enough mate. Might end up upgrading the bulbs instead just to avoid the hassel. will have a think

If it is light output you are after then you should have picked extremes, blue vision is more for visual effect.

Ie, to impress others!

The twats are the one that have the wrong bulbs and not lined up right.

Yes there are quite a few out there, but there are also a lot of projector lights out there with normal filament bulbs fitted that can cause a bit of annoyance when they "flash" at you after crossing speed bumps etc.

I've got factory fitted HIDs on my B5 Passat and had it from new (almost 13 years old) and they are still fantastic lights.

its mainly for the PCP plan im on for my car. seeing as i have to hand it back completely standard and seeing as people have said they have to drill the backing plate etc its got me thinking should i do that or just buy some upgraded bulbs.

anyone know the good/cheap bulbs to buy? side lights and dipped etc

tbh im saying all of this and i havent had the change to price some HIDs up! still need to get a photo up aswell for you mate to see which ones i need :)
