there was very heavy rain today and i managed to go through a fairly large though not dramatically deep puddle, very shortly after the excess pollution light came on, car began driving like it had a wet dizzy (though the 20vt doesnt have one) got her to the dealers at 4.40pm and they didnt have any vas machines onsite at that time, they also didnt have any coil packs to try and test the fault out so i drove her home without advice not to, got vagcom onto the case and im getting lambda b1s1 malfunctions and lambda heater performance too low, after copying the codes for the dealers i cleared them and the xecond error didnt come back but the car is still stuttering and refusing to accelerate until you dial in over 2500 rpm then it drives almost normally.
i did a very short bit of logging of the lambdas but cant tell whats wrong.
anyone else had this happen and if so, what was the outcome?

The 02 sensor is fooked brendy, or still shorted or wiring needs drying, reason it feels better over 2.5k+ is cause this sensor is closed loop and aint read over this or on wot(wide open throttle), unless rapid cooling of cat has destroyed it  can happen

yea i was logging tonight and saw that misfire recognition turns off after a set rpm range.
also , doesnt stage 2 turn it off?

Brendy does if you actually have stage 2 software  :D

seriously mate yours is the precat sensor, not post cat that stage 2 turns off, i know this is case on LCR anyhow, sure it will be same for LC

B1 is bank 1 mate
S1 is sensor 1 pre cat

the only bit of logging i did with it tonight was at fairly moderate revs and the misfire recognition had 10 misfires logged, on the 20vt they feel more like a stone hitting the underside of the car rather than backfires. ive emailed kev to see if ive definately been mapped to stage 2, my boost requests are definately lower than dpj's etc.

on my lappy now, these were the two faults, the second one didnt come back after clearing it. cheers vern
2 Faults Found:
16514 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1: Malfunction in Circuit
P0130 - 35-00 - -
17511 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating: B1 S1: Performance too Low
P1103 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Brend 1 st code looks like sensor has died, or is giving vastly incorrect voltages to ecu :(

2nd code will prob not come back and was caused by the rapid cooling with water on it :)

Maybe the answer to some probs mate, might have been on it's way out for a while then got finished off, very important sensor, along with the maf, car will run crap if these are duff

sensor was replaced 10k ago so i think the puddle has killed it.
as for stage 2 any ideas on finding out myself? i think kev can look and see if the agent used the credits for stg2 as well as the full stg 1 remap.

Kev would know 100% mate

But i think somthing is amiss, i saw yours V dpj's boost logs, your requests seem low, maybe a car thing they do differ, but i would want piece of mind from revo brend, does happen not just revo, easy done jim did it on an apr map on rich's, i could diagnose that, from boost as i had same code on mine, rich's was down, and just had no top end, a reflash and all was very well

juat a thought, but could the probe be working and it's what it's measuring that is the fault?

no idea about the specific codes.

Very hot ceramic cat + cold water = shattered cat matrix (fairly common problem).

Just a thought (not a pleasent one mind you).

my requests were peaking around 2300, since resetting and fitting the n75f back on its gone down to around 2200, strange..
the boost gauge reads around 14-17 from 1st to 3rd and from 4th on it will sometimes hit 20psi for around a second or so then drop back to 16-17 then on down to 10 if i hold onto the gear to around 6k. one other thing ive noticed is if i am in 6th and accelerate briskly the needle will go to 17ish, if i ease off and press back down quickly it then goes on round to 20 for that little second before going back to normal 17ish, im not sure if its a spike or a glitch.
to be honest im still not overjoyed with how the car is going, as soon as kev gets back to me, then get the sensor replaced (eta tuesday) im giving her a full reset, filling her up again with super and taking her out for an hour or two and run some logs towards the end of it.

An oldie but turned out to be a corroded lambda sensor spade connection under the car, I repaired it by by passing the spade connector plastic box and it worked fine. Today the light came back on and it looks like a loose connection again, time to crawl back under again!
