This must have happened while I was out with the family on Saturday night. Car was parked in retail car park.
Only noticed it earlier today as car was parked up all day Sunday with the affected side out of sight in driveway.

Do you guys think this is a smart repair job or a full/section bumper respray?

There are no cracks or creases or dents, but as you can see it's pretty badly scuffed in quite a few places down to the black plastic.

I’d be tempted to get a very very light polishing compound in that first, with some hard elbow grease.

The more you can ‘get off’ the less pain from your repairer. Maybe let people know your area etc and they will be able to recommend a repairer? I personally have used a ‘smart repair’ a few times, by recommendations and both times I’ve been very pleased with the outcome!

Ok thanks. I'm in SE London /Kent Borders. Happy to get quotes later in the week. Was just looking for a quick viewpoint from any experienced forum members who could tell how bad it is.

I’m more round to the north, so can’t recommend sorry!

It looks a straight cut repair though, my smart repairer is in St Albans, but uses a body spray booth/body shop. I avoid any side of the road gimmicks.

For a front door deep scratch to be blended and lacquered correctly I paid £200 I think. Which was better than an ‘approved body shop’ who tired saying a full side body respray and blend at over a grand!

I had very similar damage to my car when someone decided to cut me up on a roundabout. I just had mine resprayed by a specialist body repair workshop.

If you are in Suffolk area. Wayne Green Body Repairs will do a good job. might not be the cheapest though.

EDIT: i don't know the exact cost of the bumper because I got some other work done at the same time. Came to about £300 for the lot though.

Looks like a smart repart, I had a touch up and polish service, on something way less severe and I could still see if if I stared.
You can probably get it SMART repaired for about just under £100. I did mine at a place near Hendon station...I recommend them. They have done a smart repair when I reversed into a bollard on the side, and also a smart repair on my diamond cut alloy, I still can't see where it was!

Thanks to all for the helpful advice. I've managed to get alot of the scuffing out using a rubbing compound.
I could probably touch in the rest, but it might annoy me. Will ask my local bodyshop. If I can get it done at around £150 I'll be happy.

Somebody done exactly the same to my MK1 the other day, I literally sprayed it quickly on the drive way for now.
