I know the aquamist site talks about 5-10% of tank volume as a suitable reservoir, but out of interest, how much methanol and water do you lot get through?

Where do you get it from and roughly how much?

And if Wilko's around - you once said you could run T9 with no pull with your aquamist on; do you still find the same or has your experience changed?

(just wondering how a 1s + running costs compares to a years' worth of millers :D )

I bought my 25lts from a local bulk chemical supplier - however, before I was allowed to uplift my purchase, I was subject to prolonged interrogation[they were worried in case I was a member of Al-Quaeda]and then had to pay an embarrassing £100 minimum order charge, before I was finally free to leave

I went for it because I wanted to use the Aquamist in winter and needed Methanol to stop the system freezing - I was also worried about using anything else other than pure methanol in case the pump was damaged

The standard LCR washer bottle for me lasts about 350 miles normal road us[6mm jet/10psi pump trigger point] - and that is without using the windscreen washers

I was pleased to find that the bigger 5.5ltr bottle from the Toledo fits the LCR, and that is really a must for peace of mind if you plan to fit Aquamist - I allows you to relax and use the washers without worrying about emptying the bottle too quickly

Emptybottle=no feed to pump = knackered pump------ can easily catch you out - Beware:(

10psi is the std setting...
not running hot induction at these temps to warrant triggering IMHO..
mine was set to 1bar trigger...
intercooling doing the baulk of the work, with water/meth mix dealing with hot days & track bashing... 10% mix. Cold mani to touch @ the ring on return from banzaii laps. (conserves water too)

bump :)

With reference to the running otu of water comment, i intend to move my screenwash bottle level sensor to above my aquam feed, so that i know its close when it beeps to say im low on screenwash.

I have noticed very low temps and less timing pull since fitting it, how much should i advance the timing? dont really want to go snapping any rods! :)

Get the DDS2 fitted or the new DDS3 ;)

You may find a TD05H 20G has compressor surge if you pull in the boost too hard as it does on the 2.0 Scooby engines with a big bore inlet if you try to run silly boost before 4000-4500 RPM
yep spot on,mine surges at 4000-45000rpm then clears and pulls to the redline.Fitting a tdo6 hotside now.
