hose from fuel filter to engine change

Hi!

When doing service on my car and changing the fuel filter the connector from the hose to the fuel filter had rusted and broke. It is the one going from the filter tp the engine. Any way of changing just the connector or does the whole hose need to be changed? Anybody know the part number for this?


Also my gear box is leaking from the big green cap that is on the side. I am thinking maybe it would be enough just to change the cap. Anyone know how to find out which gearbox I have (seat leon mk1 2001 5 speed) and what the part number may be?

Find a scrapper for the fuel pipe, from what I remember you can't buy the pipe on it's own, you also have to get the other two running along side it, around £100 from the dealers.

Can't help you with the gearbox.

Just spoke to my local VAG-dealer and they want £100 for the fuel line because, just as you said, you need to purchase all three in a pack. Have also called around to different scrap yards and no luck so far.

So I have been thinking of other solutions. Online I have seen a fuel line repair kit by dorman. Does anyone have any experience with this and know whether it would work?

Also have been thinking about just taking off the fuel line and replacing it with a regular rubber fuel line and attaching it with a hose clamp in both ends. Does anyone see any problems that I cannot with any of these solutions?

Also anyone know if the fuel line on a seat leon mk1 is the same as on a golf mk4?

Thanks mate, I have the part number. However have not been able to find it online for cheaper than the VAG-dealer and no scrapyard around has it. Hence why I have been looking at other solutions.

Seems the fuel line repair kits are pretty decent. Then I could simply find a new connection or use a hose clamp.

if its a diesel fuel line in the engine bay top you refer to they sell these on ebay.also every engine and fuel system part on seat,s are the same on the mk4 golf diesel or petrol. if you on good terms with a vw dealership trade parts just take your old part tell them a mk4 golf and they will order the part.I did just that when after a plastic fuel line for the fuel filter on a seat toledo petrol and a air mass meter for the toledo as i was told at seat cant get the plastic fuel line to the petrol filter any more so went to vw asked for a mk4 golf and it was in stock. do the same at audi dealership also the parts are the same there might be 1 or 2 numbers or letters missing just go for same engine size and diesel or petrol your after part for.
