Well thats it the m3 just didn't have the torque were it counted, obviously as it got into its stride it pegged the gap and probably started gaining but the leon had already pulled a good car legnth or 2. So suprised and quite made up to be honest. I was considering getting stage 3 done before i went because i thought i would be blown away but no. Time was good but the car was really good, alot better than the standard one i took 4 years ago. The grip its got with the new goodyears and the wheel spacers i'd say gave it alot more too

I wouldn't mind doing a track day at some point but I wouldn't push it to 10/10ths as you see so many cars in barriers etc. Just not worth it. I've always been good at go-karting but wouldn't want to push too hard in my daily driver.
How is the handling of the Leon on a track in general? I'm thinking of uprating ARBs next year but need to research a little more in this area...

the leon in standard form handles ok for a standard road car but you can tell its standard if you know what i mean, there a little soft and dive too much under braking. 2 grand and you can have a properly sorted track weapon. I know what you mean, i'm going to have a word with a mate and see next year if he wants to give me half towards the leon and we will totally strip it out, cage etc. Just its too hard on the car when its your dailey drive too.
I guess this creates effectively a wider track and makes the car more stable on cornering. Do the spacers introduce and problems with wheel balancing, judder, or anything like that?

The weight-saving part is the least of his worries - I think he'll notice when he uprates his turbo and changes exhaust, etc, etc! $$$
vrs done an 8.58, 335i done a 8.55, cayman s about an 8.55 from memory and the m3 not sure. It was his first time so didn't push it. Yeah the dms 335i is rapid. Not really quickr than mine to 130 ish but after that literaly ran away from me. They do 185plus when there mapped. It was a handleful on track tho
Yeah it really needs a LSD with 380hp coming from the rear axel. You got a very competitive time in that case - must be the driver!
I like the idea of a chipped x35 BMW with an additional 70-80 horses (would be good in 135 guise) - but for my next car I really want to go for a powerful NA engine. The throttle response is so much better as is the sound. Being NA it will have a less peak torque than turbocharged, so I'd need more peak power to make up for it. Know any RWD NA cars with ~350bhp other than M3 (345hp) and 370z (335hp) that don't cost the world? This is two years down the line, but feel free to indulge me

Yeah get fed up with FWD when you want a quick start, plus RWD is way more fun (even if it's not quicker once on the move). Also you'd need strong arms to tame 350hp FWD, which we'll find out once Mountune release their 360hp Mk2 RS
