You have an oil issue probably turbo seals gone. Oil is a give away sign. Will be in intercoolers intake and everything in-between.

Yeah I was afraid of that, although that said engine doesnt appear to be burning oil and tail pipe is clean. Unfortunately I'm up **** creek with out a penny financially so it will have to stay like that. I've repaired the old ebay re-circ valve and put that back on now as well. **** week just got a whole lot shittier :-(
Take off the pipe connecting to the intake and see what's going on in there first. You can buy a replacement cartridge from b5 for just over £200 last time I looked for the ko4.

So I need to put a "rescue" package together and here are some thoughts I've had.
1. New turbo and someone to fit it.
2. Recon turbo and someone to fit it
3. Just replace the cartridge and someone to fit it
4. Something else
The issue I have is that I need someone to fit what ever option as I live on a slope and cannot jack the car up.
So are other than AMD is there anyone in Essex that is well priced and recommended ?
