I had my first powerful car BEFORE i even had my drivers license...
I started to built myself a Rabbit mk1 at age of 16 with a nice 2.0 l 16v turbocharged engine....
Drove it for 2 days and then smashed it up and nearly died at this accident...(6 month hospital and in bed)
I think a really strong and lightweight car like this is an absolute weapon and needs driving experience...
It really is better as everyone has said to save your money, however in the boat your in you will be wanting to do stuff to it. And its just the way it goes.
As said before exhaust and decat and filter are probably the best you can do for the money. Look around for second hand parts if you can you will save yourself alot !. Also im guessing first car ? or around that , you dont want to be spending tonnes as accidents are very likely. and beleve me crashing your pride and joy is not nice .. but after that you tone down your driving style alot ! and more power is on the way ..
If you really want to make your 1.6 go faster then remove the EGR valve and exhaust gas recirculation system buy a 4-2-1 supersprint manifold then a full decat supersprint exhaust system, take your air box off and get the £29.99 induction kit from eBay. With all this you will be looking at about 130hp and a bill of well over a grand or u could do what I did buy the £52 Jamex lowering spring kit from flebay get some 17's with Goodyear eagle f1 assy's and the eBay induction kit then you will mash people from handling point of view I eat fiesta mk5 zetec s's for breakfast now and mines only 1.4
