how do i recode my remote key????

i know this has been asked loads but ive searched and cant find the answer,


wot is the combination of buttons to recode a remote key for a 1.4 ibiza mk3????

Here you go,

key in the ignition and turn so the dash lights come on,
leave it there for a couple of secs and then remove it
hold the lock button down and whilst holding that press the unlock button 3 times
release both buttons and the remote light should flash 5 times but it should also lock and unlock the vehicle programming the remote to the car

doesnt work for me though,


key flashes 5 times but car doesnt seem to reconise it at all,

ive taken it apart and cleaned it and im guessin the battery is fine as the light on the key still flashes

I have the same problem. I cant be arsed with it anymore, tryed umpteen times, it's going to an auto electrician.

Does yours work off the button inside the car or does the 1.4 not have that?

Try this instead;

1-key in the igntion turn on so the lights come on but dont start it.
2-Take the key out quickly
3-quickly- hold down the unlock button on your key fob and press lock 3 times
4-release buttons
5-the led on the fob will light up 5 times during them lighting up the car should try and lock and unlock itself.

will this help my key lock the car now ? (button wise)
It unlocks ok, but the majority of the time i need to lock the car using the key !!
