You've only just bought your Leon, how the hell do you have so many posts on here!
Its right, detailing is an american term used for valeting but in the UK the main difference is valeting doesnt include machine polishing to correct paint defects and pretty much just covers an outside and in clean of the car.
I consider what i do to my car (and anyone elses that wants to pay me) detailing and yes, i also consider myself to have mild OCD when it comes to the way i go about cleaning cars.
Heres the last writeup i did for my own car - since then its been washed weekly and had a couple of layers of wax (albeit for testing new products, i wouldnt normally use wax with Zaino on the car, there isnt any need).

Someone mentioned that DetailingWorld is the place to go for info and advice, i'd happily 2nd that.
I'm not normally pedantic but someone mentioned most of the well known brands being US based companies... that was correct with the exception of DoDo Juice, they are very much a UK company based in the south.
