Do what Ive done complain and get your money back.
Yes the cars look nice but imagine how the dealers are gonna treat you when they have your money. The whole Seat episode has put a nasty taste in my mouth.

well first it was 12th march (yeah today) then told 26 march, been to the stealers today and seat have very kindly changed the date to the 13th april now. couldnt see the point of havin a go at the dealer cos its not his fault so came home n rang seat customer service who basically told me they dont give a :censored: they told me to speak to my dealer...i already did that...tried to find an email for seat head office uk to write a complaint but the contact link on web site doesnt work. anyone any ideas what to do next

12 weeks is about the norm so I would expect the car to be ready in April from a January order - would say it's more the dealer getting your hopes up rather than Seat at fault imo

rbmike I would agree with Ami-Jane, it sounds like the dealer are giving you duff dates or where trying to get their hands on one already built / been built.
Normal delivery is 12 - 15 weeks for factory orders.

the dealer cant get one thats already built cos of my options, he managed to swap a group stock order for mine he gave me the screen print which shows order date 12/12/09, original date 26/03/10 and forcast date of 15/4/10. im just gettin a bit sick of them moving it.

PD i really dont want to cancel the order ive been wanting this car since last september and ive worked my arse off to get the deposit together...to cancel it is kicking my self in the teeth.

I don't think SEAT have a customer service department and just hand all problems back to the dealer!! It was SEAT not the dealer who cocked up my order with their so called new system!!!! But SEAT won't take responsibility and still waiting on an answer to my email and have just sent a letter. But doubt I will hear anything SEAT suffer BSE (Blame someone Else) :censored:

I rang their customer service after my visit to the stealers yesterday and she told me they only deal with after care, i asked to speak to someone who deals with orders she told me they dont deal with them thats what my dealer is for

I have to add another episode to whats happened with my Car. I've been told that it was build week 6 and that it is usually 4 weeks after the build week before it arrives in the UK, wel its now the end of week 10 and after getting nowhere with the salesman I got the manager involved, made one phone cal and found that it was only built on the first of March and it is at the docks in Baracelona.

Because I was promised the car on the 1st March I have had to re-tax my current car, and I have to re-insuire my current car. But I'm swapping insurance so I will have to cancel the policy and incur a penalty. + Someone is waiting for the car. So Im now getting a coutesey car from SEAT on Monday until my car arrives.

I agree that once you have ordered the car they dont seem to give a rats arse.

just sounds like duff info from the dealers - they're promising things they have no control over! Any dealer should be able to give a ROUGH idea of when a car will be delivered but to say it will definitely be here by such and such a date is crazy as they can't physically go over and get the car from Spain

best to take dates as a guide and not gospel ;)

Another Episode.

Come to insure the courtesy car, and I cannot get it insured under a new policy because im not the registered keeper of the car. Only way to insure it is to take out a policy on my new car, which I cant do because its not registered yet. Or take out temp cover which I cannot do because im only 19 and all the places I looked I need to be 21!

Disaster!

The Aero front bumper does fit the FL Cupra (I have one on mine fitted by Stoke Seat when I had the car), they just have to order the one for the FL and fit the old type grill (new grill is a bit smaller).

That requires common sense and a little out of the box thinking and im sure we all know what SEAT are like for that :p

Just had a call from the dealer that the expected delivery date is 2nd week of april. I ordered on 23rd Jan.

I ordered mine 24 Jan and mine is due 15th of April so may be we both getting somewhere now although my order was changed to a group stock car they ordered on 18th december so my order date of 24th jan doesnt really count
