Does everybody think thats a good price for a LUK DMF and Sachs clutch?

If so i'll be spending my student loan on it!lol

No need for a slave cylinder just fit a full clutch kit. The clutch can be fitted in about 2.5 hours but book time may be longer possibly 4 hours.

Edit: no oil is needed

Is it necessary to get a DMF, i mean how do i know if its going, car has 94k on it, is it considered advisable to replace? Thinking of going for the remap in the near future...

Also cheers, see the clutch kit has it all...

Lol, let me know if oil is needed as i'll order if before i head to bed in a few hours..!

I was looking into this before Xmas. 400 is good I am sure I saw someone on here quote around a grand for helix clutch and dmf. When I last had the clutch replaced I was told my dmf had scoring so will be replacing that aswell next time. My Lcr is on 100k ATM. Unfortunately you won't know if you need a new dmf until the garage inspect it. Best think to do is book the car in for when you dont have to use it for a few days so you can order it if the garage recommend a new one.

i was wrong mate normally when a gearbox is done the drive shafts have to be completely removed making the oil leak out but the yous bolts on to the spline bit that goes into the gearbox so it wont leak out sorry about that and rs-tuner are you from Nottingham mate?

No sunny stoke :)

Yeh its a really good price, i'll let you in on where i get it from after ive ordered as i dont want everybody snapping them up before i get it!lol

So DMF is a yes then?

It's a tricky one mate. They won't know if you need one until they get to look at it.

The thing is, I will have to book the car in and if the DMF needs doing i will have to order it and it will take a few days to get in, thus knocking back the time it takes the car to be done which will be an issue... Im thinking i may just make the punt and get it!

I know mate that's what I said before I take it you can't do without the car for a few days? Couldn't you pass the details onto the garage and they can order it on a 24 hr courier or something?

If your changing the clutch then change the slave cylinder too as it's inside the gear box housing and if it goes then it's a full strip down of everything you've just had fitted and most clutch kits will include it too. If you only have the clutch changed and not your flywheel then the garage could refuse to do a warrenty on it and if they mate the new clucth to old flywheel and there's a problem then you could be looking at buying the whole lot again.

The slave cylinder is not inside the gearbox it's mounted on the top and can be changed with the box still fitted. So there is no need to change it at the same time.
