How you people are getting 370 miles to a tank i dont know! I'm lucky if i get 230 from a tank and that doesn't matter how i drive. Whether a thrash is or poodle around. I've been poodling around for the last week and still no change. Maybe i need to start looking for boost leaks then. Oh and just to let you know i dont have the trip computer so i cant check my mpg etc.

When I first bought the car i would be getting about 300 miles per tank, I have a lot of nice fun roads to drive along whilst coming from work in the night so usually I am looking about 250 miles but I guess I would be getting about 80 miles in £20 but I dont remember the last time I put £20 in. By the time I do one journey to see the family its gone so usually just fill it all the time

Standard LCR running on Vpower and I just filled up yesterday after 370 miles, had near enough no petrol left, but fill up before that one managed 350 without fuel light coming up so would have got another 30 out of it.

I was getting less about 320 until I had the car service with new filters and plugs and then started using vpower.

My driving is A-B roads to and from work roughly 7 miles and only about 50mph so car is not driven hard, when it is miles goes down ;)

You guys should read up on hypermiling :D

The way to get better mpg isn't to pootle around on part throttle everywhere actually. Accelerating more and then drifting (still in gear!) means less time pumping fuel into the engine and actually improves mpg. This way you can effectively spend as little as half your time on the gas.

Mpg doesn't affect me atm, but if it does you, then there are techniques out there to help you :)

Do you know if these engines cut the fueling on overrun?

my brother drives my car on the odd occasion , think he managed 32 mpg, but in all honesty, i cannot drive off boost for that long so closer to 22mpg, and on some spirited driving manage to get it down to 12, 13 mpg. it is possible if your light on your go pedal to manage a 300+ tank but it is dependant on car working correctly, air temp, air con etc. also if you find its still really low then i'd say check maf air flow meter other components, boost leaks etc on car making sure everything is working as it should.

Danny i think essex is where the lead foot dna genetics started i think...problem is half of them are little boys in 1.2 fiestas and corsas lol. Seems like the genetics have spread and we have a pandemic lol! i'm usually quite bad cant help it just love the feel of the turbo...but redundancy has hit and money is low! Start new job monday so all should be ok. Being honest done a very long drive yesterday and despite everything i've said in this thread i'm gonna make myself look and idiot...i've managed 160 miles out of just over half tank! Which is good for my car! Took the plugs out last night and they dont look to healthy...there is actually a burnt white spot on the electrode arm which isn't good. Service wasn't done that long ago! Going to change them today with some bosch super 4s and new oil and filter see how i get on.

Well i had my mate do a scan on it the other day (not vag com) and it didn't pull anything up...but the software didn't seem all that. I'm hoping there's someone in the romford area that i can meet up with that has vag com. We'll see what happens...

Well put some new bosch super 4 plugs in today with new drop of mobile super s oil and £30 of v power and it seems to have improved although still not as good as i'd hoped getting there though. Maybe a new fuel filter with a standard air box and performance panel filter as opposed to my closed induction kit might see it improve

Mine has averaged about 31mpg over the last 2500 miles. Thats including a trip to the ring.
